Sustainable Development
BrookStreet des Roches Seminar
This seminar is aimed at anyone involved in the development or
management of buildings.
When: Wednesday 23 May - registration will be
from 2.30 pm for a 3.00 pm start and the seminar will finish at
around 4.30 pm, with refreshments after.
Where: The seminar will take place at our offices on Milton
Park
Who: The talk will be presented by Joe Bellhouse of
BrookStreet des Roches and Paul Maryan of Peter Brett Associates
LLP (www.peterbrett.com).
Joe has provided legal services in the construction sector for over
25 years. Paul has been at the forefront of sustainable energy
implementation and low carbon development in the UK for over 20
years.
What: "Sustainable development is development
that meets the needs of the present without compromising the
ability of future generations to meet their own needs" (Our Common
Future - Brundtland Commission 1987)
The movement towards sustainable development has gathered pace
since 1987 and has entered the mainstream concentrating on carbon
emissions. BrookStreet des Roches and Peter Brett Associates will
give an overview of the current approach in the UK and its
application to the development and management of buildings.
Our focus will be on energy use, conservation and the
opportunities presented for those involved in the development and
management of buildings. Our overview will cover:
The Carbon Reduction Commitment Energy Efficiency Scheme
Energy Performance Certificates
Energy use and conservation and developing engineering
solutions
Opportunities for stabilising electrical energy costs and
generating electrical energy
